David Chidgey
David Chidgey (@StamfordChidge) has been a season ticket holder in Gate 17 Matthew Harding Upper since 2002 and a supporter for over 40 years. Since 2008 he has produced and presented the popular and award-winning Chelsea FanCast podcast, including the ‘50 Years of Chelsea’ series looking back at Chelsea’s history from 1970 onwards.
He writes a weekly column for Football.London and has been a regular contributor to the cfcuk Fanzine for many years and has also written about Chelsea for The Times, The Evening Standard, cfcnet; International Business Times, Yahoo, Goal.com, the Telegraph, The Mail and Mirror. He is regularly asked to comment on Chelsea issues, on and off the pitch, for London Tonight; BBC London, BBC Radio London, BBC Radio5Live; TalkSPORT; LBC; Absolute Radio; CNN; NBC, TV2 and Sports Tonight Live and was a regular presenter on Love Sport Radio.
He was the first Chelsea FanCast representative on the Chelsea FC Official Fans Forum and helped to set up the Chelsea Supporters Trust in 2013. He has served as an elected board member from its inception and as Chairman of the Trust for three years from 2016-2019, with responsibility for the Trust’s media relations and communications and latterly the mental health initiative ‘Over the Line’.
David spent 20 years as a Film and TV Producer/Director, producing many programmes and films on football and sport, before re-training to become a Psychotherapist in 2013 and is now in private practice in Hampshire.
